The Greene Central baseball team clinched the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference title Friday evening with a 6-0 win at North Lenoir.

The Rams concluded EPC play with a 7-1 mark and stand 14-5 overall going into Monday's finale against D.H. Conley, which is a make-up game.

Starting pitcher Deric Grant threw six scoreless innings against North Lenoir to up his mark to 5-3.

The Rams were led offensively by William Bynum and Josh Taylor, each of whom went 2 for 3 with a double. Taylor drove in a run.

On Wednesday, Greene Central defeated visiting Farmville Central 5-0.

Zach Chase led Greene Central, going 2 for 4 with a double and RBI, followed by Taylor, who was 2 for 3.

Wes Sowers earned the win on the mound for the Rams.
