The Wilson County Youth Athletic Association will sponsor a series of summer camps for a wide variety of sports. Included is the fifth annual WCYAA-Brent Pearson Basketball camp, which attracted more than 55 young athletes last summer.

Returning this year is softball instructor Amy Gardner to teach the fundamentals of the game in a week-long camp while new on the scene is the British Soccer camp.

Information for each camp is as follows:

WCYAA-Brent Pearson

Basketball Camp

Dates: Monday-Friday, June 9-13

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $70 (includes shooting camp); $50 for Monday-Thursday only

WCYAA-Brent Pearson

Day Camp

Dates: Monday-Friday, June 16-20

Time: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Location: Elm City Middle School

Cost: $150

Sports: Basketball, baseball, kickball, soccer, bowling, football, tennis, putt-putt, handball, volleyball and table tennis.

WCYAA-Amy Gardner

Softball Camp

Ages: 6-15

Dates: Monday-Friday, June 23-27

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Location: Lucama Elementary School ballfields

Cost: $100

Details: Amy will work with pitchers and catchers, infielders, outfielders, as well hitting and running the bases.

WCYAA-British

Soccer Camp

Ages 3-16

Dates: Monday-Friday, July 7-11

Location: Rock Ridge Elementary School Soccer Fields

Details: Get a free jersey if you register by May 23
