Suggs-Swink

EFFINGHAM S.C. -- Elizabeth Stewart Swink and Fred Wilson Suggs III, both of Greenville, S.C., exchanged wedding vows Saturday at the home of the bride's parents in Effingham. The Rev. Jerry Temple officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Gray Swink of Effingham and the granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph Edwards Green of Wilson, N.C., and the late Mr. Joseph Edwards Green. She graduated from South Florence High School, received a bachelor's degree from Clemson University and a master's degree from the Citadel. She is employed by the Greenville Chamber Foundation.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson Suggs Jr. of Greenville, S.C. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Eskel Hysom of Wichita, Kan., and the late Mr. Fred Wilson Suggs and Mrs. Frances Suggs Gray of Montgomery, Ala. He graduated from Greenville High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University and a juris doctorate from The University of South Carolina. He is employed by Roe, Cassidy, Coates & Price in Greenville, S.C.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Maids of honor were Frances Green Swink and Marion Gray Swink, sisters of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Courtney Blackwell Barber, Anne Hassold Harris, Elizabeth Ashley Holzbach, Sarah Wong Nettles, Ashley O'Brian Rockwell, and Lydia Goforth Pharr, cousin of the bride.

Best men for the wedding were the bridegroom's father and David Hysom Suggs, the bridegroom's brother.

Groomsmen were Bret Douglas Bowerman, James Bernard Hood, John Stuart Moore Jr., Forrest Clifton Northcutt Perrin, and John Allen Roberts.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

On the eve of the ceremony, a rehearsal party was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at the home of the bride's parents.

Following their return from a honeymoon in Belize, the couple will reside in Greenville, S.C.
