Members of the Kuntaw Palace martial arts studio in downtown Wilson recently won their competitions at the Durham Karate Open Championship at Durham's Riverside High School last weekend.
Taking first place in the Green Belt, Adult Men Division was Jamarl Sharpe in weapons and fighting while Chuck Moore won forms and weapons in the Green Belt, Executive Adult Men division.
Moore also place third in fighting.
Josh Mahone was second in forms in Yellow Belt, Boys Division.
Earlier this month, a contingent from Kuntaw Palace conducted a Kali (stick fighting) clinic at the Hidden Dojo martial arts school in St. Louis, headed by Nick Burger, a professional kickboxing champion.
