Obama office to open

The official opening of the Wilson Barack Obama Campaign office is scheduled for 3:30 today at 1220 Tarboro St.

U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield will attend and talk about one-stop voting.

"North Carolina will play an important role in this election. Every person in North Carolina should get involved in this process," Butterfield said. "Sen. Obama is an undisputed leader and has won more states and the popular vote, but this is no time to rest. Early voting is important."

He said that there is only a little more than a week before one-stop voting ends, and volunteers are needed in the Obama office to help get the message out to Wilson residents.
