MINNEAPOLIS -- Livan Hernandez baffled Detroit's mighty offense for seven innings and the Minnesota Twins beat up the Tigers' normally reliable bullpen in an 11-1 victory Friday night.
Hernandez (4-1) gave up one run on eight hits to bounce back from a horrendous start in Texas, and the Twins scored four runs off Aquilino Lopez in the seventh inning to get some breathing room in their third straight win.
Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-3 with a solo homer for the Tigers, who appeared to finally be playing up to their potential after their first sweep of the Yankees in New York since 1966.

In Toronto, Shaun Marcum matched Mark Buehrle pitch for pitch and Shannon Stewart drove in the only runs, helping the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 2-0 Friday night.

In New York, Chien-Ming Wang became the American League's first six-game winner, ending the Yankees' three-game losing streak on a chilly night in the Bronx.

In Atlanta, Tim Hudson pitched his 11th career shutout and Brian McCann hit a two-run homer Friday night, helping the Atlanta Braves end a season-high four-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Hudson (4-2) gave up just three hits, and retired 11 straight batters.
McCann's sixth homer of the season came in the fourth off Edinson Volquez (4-1), sending the Reds to their third straight loss.

In Miami, Dan Uggla hit two home runs and Mark Hendrickson pitched seven effective innings to lead Florida to the win.
Khalil Greene hit a two-run homer for San Diego, which has lost 13 of 16 and four of its last five games.
