LAGRANGE -- The Greene Central softball team edged host North Lenoir, 5-4, on Friday.
Liz Webb and Shanna Parker each batter 2 for 3 to lead the Lady Rams, who rapped 10 hits.
Greene Central improved to 15-7 overall and 7-1 the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference.
Jessica Moore earned the complete-game win, allowing six hits while striking out five.
Kayla Sutton went 3 for 4 to lead North Lenoir.
The Lady Rams host Goldsboro on Monday at 5 p.m.

Lady Knights can't handle WCD
GOLDSBORO -- Overmatched but not outworked, the Greenfield varsity girls soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback Friday afternoon at Wayne Country Day.
Lady Knights goalkeeper Sarah Bizzell managed eight saves on 13 shots by the Lady Chargers.
"She did an excellent job," Greenfield head coach Ben Forbes said. "We tried hard but we just didn't get the job done."
The Lady Knights tumbled to 3-10-1 overall and 2-6 in the 1-A Coastal Plains Independents Conference.
Mack Thompson scored two goals for first-place WCD.
The Lady Knight have two matches remaining -- at Faith Christian on Tuesday and against Ridgecroft on Friday's Senior Night.
