Class reunion

Members of the Hunt High School Class of 1983 are in the process of planning a 25-year reunion to be held in the fall. Talent show

The Greenville Chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will be hosting its annual Youth Talent Search June 14. The group is searching for the best singers, dancers, steppers, poets, rappers, praise dancers and other talents. Youth of all ages are encouraged to participate. Group talents, including step and dance teams, are also welcome. The winner receives a trophy and cash prizes. The event is at the Willis Building, 300 E. 1st Street, Greenville, NC 27858 from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds benefit community service activities, including purchasing school uniforms for needy school children in Pitt County. Woman of the Year

The Greenville Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., is accepting applications for its annual Pearls and Rubies Woman of the Year Award. The speaker for the event is author Omar Tyree. The Pearls and Rubies Scholarship Luncheon celebrates the achievements of local heroines who are making a difference in the Pitt-Lenoir-Wilson County area. Nominees must be at least 18 and preferably live within a 60-mile radius of Greenville. Information is needed by May 31. Nominees will be notified by June 14. A scholarship will also be given out to one local high school senior. Sigma Gamma Rho is also seeking corporate sponsorship for this program. Wilson Duplicate Bridge

North-South winners April 29 were Lynda Land and Marjorie Crisp, first; Ann Griffin and Betty Bikle, second; Frank Eagles and Sue Ann Blair, third. Free senior program

Free chronic disease self-management sessions for those age 60 and older will start May 20 at the Wilson Senior Center/Gee Corbett Village, 1817 Butterfield Lane. Sessions are from 9-11:30 a.m. and are sponsored by the Upper Coastal Plain Area Agency on Aging. Lower your risk by increasing your knowledge. Call 243-7703 if you need more information.

Red Cross classes

The Wilson-Greene Chapter of the American Red Cross is sponsoring the following classes in May: CPR for the professional rescuer review, May 12 from 6-9:45 p.m.; baby-sitter training for ages 11-15, May 17 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.; adult, infant and child CPR and first aid, May 19, 20 and 22, must attend all three nights from 6:30-9:30; adult CPR, May 22 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.; workplace standard first aid and CPR (adult), May 28 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required prior to class date. BCPC meeting

The Business Continuity Professionals of the Carolinas will meet May 15 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at EMC, RTP Software Development Center, 62 T.W. Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park. The program, "How Cool Is That?" includes a panel in-depth discussion and Q&A on practical, innovative, and real-time uses for business continuity planning software, communications protocols, recovery procedures, failover solutions, and more. Professional networking time, refreshments and a business meeting will be included in the agenda.
