Candidate disagrees

I agree with you that the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor has come down to two candidates -- me and Mr. Dalton. But I think your editorial mischaracterized my position on reproductive rights. I support the constitutional guarantees of Roe v. Wade. My opponent does not. His position is out of step not only with the Democratic mainstream, but with the nation as a whole.

Supporting Roe, supporting fairness for workers, opposing new coal plants, supporting full funding for education rather than new tax giveaways for already affluent special interests as my opponent has are not "extreme" -- they're exactly the kind of strong leadership that North Carolina needs and Democrats expect.
