Richard “Dick” L. Owen, 83, died Thursday, May 24, 2012.
Funeral services will be in Jarrett, Va., at a time to be announced.
Dick was born in Virginia and educated at Virginia Military Institute. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and went on to retire from Imperial Tobacco Company and then worked 10 more years with the City of Wilson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wilson Elks Lodge.
Surviving is his wife, Jane Royal Owen; daughters, Elizabeth S. Falgout (Roy) of Atlantic Beach, Lynda Owen of Raleigh and Kathryn O. Fluta (Mark) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Michelle Elizabeth Smith of Raleigh and Owen Smith of Greenville; five granddogs and a great-granddog; and a sister, Mary Anne O. Cole (Miller) of Richmond, Va.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Tuesday, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
