Our mother, Geraldine Winstead, 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012. She leaves behind family and friends that loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allison and Mattie Webb; her son, James Winstead; her grandson, Michael Webb; one sister, Gloria Bridgers; two brothers, Louis and Grover Webb.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home Friday, 7 p.m., with the Rev. Daniel Taylor officiating. Committal services will be conducted at Maplewood Cemetery Saturday, 11 a.m.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Winstead Mercer and husband, J.E.; her sons, Andy Winstead and wife, Tangy, Donnie Webb and wife, Brenda, all of Wilson; her sister, Violet Phillips of Wilson; her brothers, James Webb of Wilson, Matt Webb of Enfield, Ted Webb of Wilson; eight grandchildren, Shannon Brantley and husband, Jerry, Shane Webb, Mark Winstead, Caleb Winstead, Zachary Winstead, Kaitlyn Winstead, Michael Mercer, Jay Mercer; two great-grandchildren, Chase Brantley, Brianna Brantley; a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends, Sanford and Judy Bridgers, Alicia Clayton, Shirley Serpico and Linda Pike.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral Friday evening from 6 until 7 and other times at the home of her son, Donnie and Brenda Webb, 5012 Bear Trap Road, Wilson.
