Frederick “Fred” Carter, 55, of 607 Lane St., Apt. A, passed away June 17, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. Ext. The Rev. Anthony Cox will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Left to cherish loving memories are his wife, Lida Carter of the home; his son, Frederick Jamaar Carter of Wilson; three stepchildren, Stephanie Jones, Peaches Jones and Randall Lane, all of Wilson; six sisters, Georgia Overstreet, Margaret Carter, Thelma Hodges, Phyllis Carter, Renee Shaw and Pamela Carter, all of Wilson; three brothers, Jeremiah Carter, Calvin Carter and Steve Carter, all of Wilson; three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; two aunts, Gladys Tyson and Hazel Bell, both of Wilson; one uncle, Raymond Bell of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Evening Lights Holiness Church, 208 S. Pender St. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
