Eva Johnson Newell, 88, died Monday, June 11, 2012.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Louie Jerome “Little Jerry” Brown; and a sister, Nellie Jernigan.
Eva is survived by her husband, Charlie Newell of Bailey; daughter, Carolyn Brown and husband, Jerry, of Wilson; son, Louie G. Johnson and wife, Betty, of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Carol Perry and husband, Michael, Angela Brown, Susan Cooper, Guy Brown, Terry Johnson, Scotty Johnson, Camille Odom, Jack Johnson, Michael Johnson and Bess Matthews; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Graveside services will be held Friday, 3 p.m., in Maplewood Cemetery with Bobby Williams officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service, and at other times at the home of Carolyn Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newell family c/o Carolyn Brown, 5853 Alton Road, Wilson, NC 27893.
