STANTONSBURG — Edna Smith Ellis, 87, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Good News Advent Christian Church by the Rev. Julius Whitley. Interment followed in the Good News Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Bearden and husband, Sammie of Stantonsburg; sons, James J. “Jimmy” Ellis III of Stantonsburg, and Stephen T. “Steve” Ellis and wife, Rhonda of Greenville; and five grandchildren. Online condolences may be directed to www.shingletonfh.com.
