I´m a proud parent of two Springfield Middle students, they are not the best students in the world, but they pass their grades; I´ve always had lots of support from teachers and Principal over there, Mr.Barringer, who has always show interestes in how my kids were doing, and what do we do at home to help them out. With Mr.Barringers assistance and support, and I would add, profesionalism, I know my kids are at the best school they could be. IF your kids don´t do their best, don´t blame on the teachers or Principals. Go to the meetings, help them out, take their advice, and make sure your kids do what they have to do while at home, instead of too much TV, too much Wii or Playstation, or too much spoiling. It´s my opinion. I hope Mr.Barringer doesn´t leave the school till at least my kids graduate, I can´t imagine a more supportive Principal than him.

erb, would you last name be Barringer? I beg your pardon, the test scores have everything to do with the principal. Mr. Barringer knows which students at Springfield failed the EOG and I think even he would agree that too many of them are from fine families that take the time to raise their children properly. What has happened at that school is a shame. And yes, the parents of the students there know what is and isn't going on. That's why everyone is so upset.

to erb: I volunteer at that school almost 3 days a week. I know what I see. You on the other hand ARE AN OUTSIDER! We have GREAT parents at SMS. And as far as spelling, you need to RE READ your own post before you jump on someone else! WE KNOW WHAT WE SEE WITH OUR OWN EYES AT SPRINGFIELD. Come on out there and see for yourself!!

I have been reading the comments on Ron Barringer, and here are a few on my thoughts as an outsider from another school system. Some of the comments are not from highly educated people according to their grammar and spelling and the test scores have nothing to do with the principal of a school, but from the teachers in the classrooms teaching the children. Mostly, what is wrong with the school system today is not the teachers, principals or the superintendents, but the parents at home that do not have time to raise the children that that brought into the world because they are busy with their own agendas in life. Before you point you cast the first stone, make sure you life and children are where they should be.

Wow all this against Mr Barringer...all I know is he has always been very respectful and helpful with me and my son thru this past year at Springfield. I like Mr Barringer. There were a couple of incidents concerning my son with his grades and an argument/fight with another student and it was easy to talk with Mr Barringer. He was genuinely concerned about making sure my son had a good year in school and worked with me easily with any problems or concerns I had. Im not sure my son felt like Mr Barringer was holding his best interest yet he often encouraged my son in the halls..which turns out not to be so cool with his peers my son says..lol..but Mr Barringer always keep an eye out whether encouragement or discipline for my son and I know that played a big difference in my son finishing his year successfully.
