Undercover operation leads to arrest

In a joint undercover operation, the Wilson Police Department and the Wilson County Sheriff's Office were able to make a drug trafficking arrest last week.

Amador Israel Lira Lorenzo, 27, who lives at 81 Debbie Lane, Walstonburg, was arrested by officers and charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine.

According to a press release issued by the Wilson Police Department, Lorenzo had approximately 30 grams of cocaine in his possession, along with a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, which is more commonly known on the street as "ICE". Other charges against Lorenzo are pending at this time.

Lorenzo was placed in the Wilson County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond May 17 and posted bond and was released the next day.
