Two Sims residents face cocaine charges

SIMS -- A search warrant executed on a Sims residence Thursday turned up crack cocaine and resulted in two arrests.

Sheriff's Lt. D.W. Bailey said Shawn Barber, 26, and Sabrina Rochelle Allen, 30, both of 5143 Mammie Road, were both taken into custody and charged with felony possession of cocaine and felonious maintaining a place to keep or sell controlled substances.

The warrant was obtained based on information gathered through citizen complaints and from officers who patrol the town. The information from the investigation suggested that Barber and Allen were allegedly selling large amounts of crack from the Mammie Road residence and were supplying large amounts of crack cocaine to buyers in Sims and Nash County.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team obtained and executed a search warrant on Thursday where they found both Allen and Barber along with two juveniles in the Mammie Road home. That's when officers discovered 6 grams of crack, and both Allen and Barber were taken into custody.

Barber was placed under a $1,500 bond, and Allen was placed under a $3,000 bond.

Both were released on Thursday after posting bond.

Barber had his first court appearance on Monday, while Allen is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.
