KENLY

KS Bank, which was founded in Kenly in 1924, is celebrating its 85th anniversary today.

The bank, which is based in Smithfield, was founded April 28, 1924, as Kenly Building and Loan Association. It was created to give home loans to people in Kenly and the Johnston County area.

Offices remained in the back of the Bank of Kenly from its founding until 1960, when an office was built downtown.

The company, now KS Bank, officially moved headquarters to Smithfield in 2003.

BAILEY

Olivia Gibson of Wilson came away the $100 grand prize winner with her gift certificate.
