SHARPSBURG Commissioner Debra Hamm resigned from the town board last week, leaving Sharpsburg commissioners with the task of finding her replacement. Hamm, who ran against Mayor Sheila Williams in 2007, was later appointed to the board to fill elected commissioner Michael Jones' seat because he was expected to be deployed to Iraq in 2008. Hamm did not give a reason for her resignation. Town Administrator Robert Masters said the town at its regular meeting tonight will consider a replacement, who will serve on the board until municipal elections this fall. Also during the meeting, the town will also consider a town vehicle use policy for town employees. Commissioners will also set a date for interviewing candidates for a town finance officer position. Masters hopes to have the position filled by June. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall on Railroad Street. For details, call the town at 446-9441.
