Town Talk

LUCAMA

The Lucama Community Improvement Committee, which is planning a festival in town for May 16, now has a Web site up and running, said chair and secretary Shelley Moreira.

The Web site, www.lucamacic.com , has news about the town's planned "Spring Fling" festival, including commitments to play the festival by The Seaside Band and The Black Creek Band.

Moreira said Kuntaw Martial Arts has also committed to giving demonstrations, along with the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in Kenly.

Several vendors have also committed, she said.

In addition, the Lucama "Spring Fling" will have its first annual car show, presented by The Twisted Stallions muscle car club, with five muscle cars already committed.

Though some vendors have committed to the festival, Moreira said there is room for more. A booth without electricity costs $35 and a booth with electricity costs $45.

For more information on updates on the festival, visit the Web site.
