Monday, June 15, 2009 5:27 PM Town Talk for Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Sharpsburg Sharpsburg commissioners will consider several items tonight related to their effort to rehabilitate the town's sewer system and will also consider entering into a new contract with the current town administrator. The town board will consider whether to approve paying The East Group, which is helping the town with an overhaul of its sewer system, $20,000 for an inflow and infiltration study it recently did for the town and $10,000 to match a grant it received for a capital improvement plan it will do for the overhaul. The plan would help with future sewer system repairs. The board will also consider renewing Town Administrator Robert Masters' contract. Masters was set to step down from his position later this month after commissioners voted not to renew the contract. The town will also consider contracting services for a town attorney position after Town Attorney Robert Orcutt stepped down recently for personal reasons. Commissioners will also enter into a closed session to discuss personnel issues. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall on Railroad Street. For more information, call 446-9441, ext. 221. Stantonsburg The Stantonsburg Kiwanis Club has chosen Coley Hunt Rhodes' yard for its June Yard of the Month. Rhodes' yard at 202 S. Main St. was judged on beauty and landscaping. Judges for the yard were Dan and Marguerite Whitley. Saratoga The Shannon Woods community is having a Father's Day celebration Saturday. Carla Pack, organizer for the event, said the event will feature face painting, music, prizes and other activities for children. "Everyone is invited," she said. She encouraged families to bring a covered dish. The event will be from 2-5 p.m. at 6708 Shannon Road. This is the second year it has been held. For more information, call 236-2255.
