Monday, July 06, 2009 4:47 PM Town Talk for Tuesday, July 7, 2009 SHARPSBURG Sharpsburg commissioners will be entering a closed session during their regular meeting Tuesday night to discuss land development. Also during the meeting, commissioners will consider adding new town finance officer Lenessa Hawkins and town administrator Robert Masters as authorized check signers for the town. Hawkins was hired by the board last month. The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. An agenda meeting will be held at 7. The meeting is in the town hall on Railroad Street. NASHVILLE A Nashville native was appointed last week to head the N.C. Highway Patrol, according to a media release from N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. Gov. Bev Perdue appointed Lt. Col. Randy Glover to colonel of the Highway Patrol. Glover, who is director of field operations for the Highway Patrol, takes on his new job Aug. 1. He replaces Col. Walter J. Wilson Jr., who is retiring. Glover has served with the Highway Patrol since 1980 when he was assigned to Harnett County. He is a graduate of Southern Police Institute in Louisville and is a member of the Southern Police Institute Association.
