Town Talk for May 14

NASH COUNTY

The Nash County Republican Party Executive Committee has recommended Kevin Lewis to continue serving as the Republican member of the three-member Nash County Board of Elections.

Lewis, who has served with the board since 2007, was selected along with alternates Bruce Harris and Mary Beth Dollar during the committee's monthly meeting Tuesday. The names will be forwarded to the chair of the N.C. Republican Party, who will then forward the names to the state board of elections, which appoints the board.

The state board of elections must re-appoint the board every other year. Lewis is the board's only Republican.

MIDDLESEX

The town will be holding a special meeting Tuesday to hold a budget workshop.

The town will also adopt an ordinance for a well grant during the meeting, which will be at 7:30 p.m. in the town hall on South Nash Street.

For more information, call 235-5761.
