Summerlin awarded scholarship


Stephanie Summerlin of Elm City has been awarded a $3,000 Leaders Scholarship at Mount Olive College.

Summerlin, who is the daughter of Roger and Tammy Summerlin, was a senior at Fike High School and attends Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She will pursue a degree in sports medicine.

The Leaders Scholarships are awarded to students based on acceptance, high school grade point average, SAT or ACT scores, and demonstrated leadership potential.

The scholarship is renewable for up to four years provided the student is enrolled full time and completes the components of the Leadership Program.

Stephanie is my cousin and I would just like to congradulate her for winning this scholarship award. I am very proud of you and I wish you all the best in the future.
