Police seek information in weekend shooting

Wilson Police are looking for suspects who were involved in an altercation that resulted in one person being shot in the leg Saturday night.

Detective K. Smith said an altercation that began at Rubys and spilled into the parking lot of the former Turner's Mini Mart at 1430 S. Tarbobo St., ended up with Jermorris Terrell Jones, 21, of Coley Circle in Lucama, being shot in the right leg.

Smith said that Jones was transported to Wilson Medical Center by a private vehicle and later transported to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound.

Smith said no further details surrounding the shooting were available because the investigation is still active, but he did ask that if anyone had information regarding the incident to call him at 399-2367 or to call Crime Stoppers at 243-2255.

All calls to Crime Stoppers will remain confidential, but in order to qualify for any potential reward the caller must leave their name and telephone number.

To "the truth": How dare you say that about our community hospital! Hope you need the services of the ED staff on a late weekend night, real soon, for constipation. Then ask the staff their opinions. NO,Really do ask them. Bet "all 3 or 4" of their answers scare the crap out of you. Ask nicely for a warm blanket...it might be a while...
