6 people arrested in Wayne County are also Wilson suspects

Two sets of siblings and one unrelated person were arrested and charged with a string of break-ins in Wayne County. They also are suspects in others incidences in Wilson County.

In a press release issued by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Capt. Tom Effler said six people were arrested for breaking into homes and churches in northern Wayne County. Some of the property taken in the break-ins were recovered during the investigation.

Brandon Ashley Sullivan, 20 and Triston Derral Sullivan, 19, both of 3486 N.C. 581, N, Fremont; Kevin Dale Edge, 23, Matthew Clayton Edge, 18 and Megon Noel Edge, 16, all of 835 Polly Watson Road, Fremont; and Kyle Robert Perry, 18, of 8275 Newsome Mill Road, Lucama, were all arrested Tuesday and Wednesday in connection with the break-ins.

On July 24, the group allegedly broke into Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church on Union Grove Church Road in Pikeville and on July 29, into Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Memorial Church Road in Fremont. Speakers and other stereo equipment were reported stolen from both churches.

On July 25 and August 7, two Kenly residents reported break-ins. One resided on Sunshine Road and the other lives on N.C. 581.

The six are also being investigated for break-ins in Wilson County.

"The investigation is still ongoing in Wilson and we are following up on information at this time," said Lt. Danny Bailey with the Wilson County Sheriff's Department.

According to Effler, anonymous tips from concerned citizens aided the Wayne County Sheriff's Office in their investigation.

"I want to express my appreciation to citizens that assist us in a situation like this. A lot of times people do not want to get involved which makes it extremely difficult for law enforcement officers in any type of investigation. Citizens sometimes do not realize that what they know or observe is the key to solving some of our cases," said Sheriff Carey Winders. "If any citizens think they might know something that will assist us in any of our investigations, please contact the Sheriff's Office."

Brandon Sullivan was charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, felony larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen property. As of Thursday afternoon, he was still in jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

According to the N.C. Department of Correction, this is not Brandon Sullivan's first brush with the law. He had previously been convicted for three counts of larceny, three counts of felonious breaking and entering, possession of a weapon on campus and discharging a weapon on state property.

None of the other people arrested had a court record.

Triston Derral Sullivan, Brandon Sullivan's brother, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. He was still in jail Thursday afternoon under a $15,000 secured bond.

Kevin Dale Edge was arrested and charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, felony breaking and entering, two counts of felony possession of stolen property and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
