Wilson voters support Obama in presidential primary




Wilson County voters helped Sen. Barack Obama sweep to victory in North Carolina by delivering him the county with 62 percent of the vote.

With all Wilson County precincts reporting, Obama captured 9,556 votes and his rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, received 5,474 votes, about 36 percent of the total.

In the Republic presidential primary, Sen. John McCain, who has already captured the GOP nomination, vote 2,601 votes, about 80 percent of the ballots cast.
