Ashley Michelle Amerson and Ryan Paul Sebastian, both of Wilson, exchanged wedding vows May 16 at Peace Church. The Rev. Brian Tippett officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Martin and Connie Amerson of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Georgia Gardner of Wilson, Fannie Mae Amerson of Wilson and the late Albert Amerson. She graduated from Wilson Christian Academy and received her bachelor of science in elementary education from Liberty University. She is employed by the Lynchburg, Va. city school system as a fifth grade math teacher at Sandusky Elementary School.

The bridegroom is the son of the Rev. Tony and Dana Sebastian of Wilson. He is the grandson of William H. Mowery of Fort Worth, Texas, the late Betty A. Mowery , the Rev. Gordon R. Sebastian of Wilson and the late Hilda H. Sebastian. He graduated from Hunt High School and received his bachelor of science in religion with a specialization in youth ministry and a minor in psychology from Liberty University.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white A-line satin halter gown with beaded lace appliques and a cut-out lace hem with a chapel train.

She wore a two-tier white veil with corded edges, crystals and pearls.

The bride carried an all white and ivory cascading bouquet which included Casablanca lilies, alstromeria lilies, Eskimo roses, Italian ruscus, verigated pittosporum and ivy.

Maid of honor was Summer Blevins of Kingsport, Tenn.

Matron of honor was Heather Braddock of Lynchburg, Va.

Bridesmaids were Stacey Davis of Wilson, Katy Ernst of Charlotte, Mayra Miranda Alacio of Williamsburg, Va., and Kristen Stewart of Callahan, Fla.

They wore pool blue A-line dresses with beaded bodices and cascade fronts.

Junior bridesmaids were Jenna Hunter of Wilson and Valeria Salinas Balver of Wilson, sister of the bridegroom.

Flower girls were Lindsay Hunter and Kayla Tant, both of Wilson. They wore dresses featuring white satin sleeveless bodices with tulle skirts and pool blue satin sashes.

The Rev. Tony Sebastian, father of the bridegroom, and Evan Sebastian, brother of the bridegroom, served as best men.

Groomsmen were Michael Braddock of Lynchburg, Va., Aaron Smith of Alexandria, Va., Matthew Swanson of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Joshua Waltman of Danville, Va.

Ushers were Joel Brownfield of Lynchburg, Va., Jimmy McNamara of Wilson, Jordan Parker of Keeling, Va., Adam Ray of Orlando, Fla., and Kyle Saunders of Nashville, Tenn.

Register attendant was Rhiannon Little of Stantonsburg.

Program attendants were Alex Parker and Lauryn Parker of Rocky Mount.

The ceremony was directed by Ruthie Hughes of Wilson.

Wedding music was provided by pianist, the Rev. David Martin of Wilson, violinist Everett Godwin of Wilson, trumpeter Dale Boyette of Lucama, and vocalists Dana McFarland of Rocky Mount, cousin of the bridegroom; Brad Perry of Wilson, cousin of the bridegroom; and Kevin Hill of Wilson.

Church sanctuary and reception hall decorations were by Beverly Blease of Wilson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Peace Church. Hosts were the bride's parents.

Peggy Batts of Elm City served the wedding cake.

Punch was served by Rose Hawley and Lisa Lee, both of Wilson.

Special reception helpers included Danielle Petty and Paige Petty, both of Elm City.

The bridal couple was driven from the reception by Randy Hawley of Wilson.

On the eve of the ceremony, the bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Hampton Inn and Suites.

Since returning from their honeymoon at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Lynchburg, Va.
