NASHVILLE -- Meredith Frances Andrews of Schaumburg, Ill., formerly of Wilson, and Jacob Lee Sooter of Palatine, Ill., formerly of Pineville, La., were united in marriage May 23 at Rose Hill Plantation. Dr. James MacDonald and Pastor Steven Smith officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Andrews of Wilson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Van Andrews of Wilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond S. Altman of Dunn. She graduated from Wilson Christian Academy and received a bachelor's degree in family and child development from Liberty University. She is a singer, songwriter and worship leader, employed by Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago and Word Records in Nashville, Tenn.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor H. Sooter and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Stagg and Jean Duke Sooter, all of Pineville. He graduated from Pineville High School and received a bachelor's degree in music from Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. He is a professional musician, playing keyboard for Christian artist Jeremy Camp.

The bride entered the pecan grove at Rose Hill in a horse-drawn carriage with her father. She walked down the aisle to an original song composed by she and bridegroom entitled "Our Theme."

She wore an ivory strapless ballgown with a beaded alencon lace midriff and pick up applique and was accented with a sand ribbon sash and pearl and rhinestone broach. The dress was made of slipper satin and alencon lace and was designed by Judd Waddell.

As a perfect compliment to her gown, the bride wore her mother's silk cathedral-length veil which was re-appliqued with the same alencon as her wedding dress.

She carried a round, Victorian-style bouquet of peonies, roses, garden roses and pearl-studded stephanotis in ivory, pale pink and salmon with natural greenery. The stems were wrapped in ivory lace accented with pearls.

Maid of honor was Allison Aycock of Surf City, cousin of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Brittany Andrews of San Luis Obispo, Calif., cousin of the bride; Cassondra Clarke of Roseville, Mich.; Rebecca McKinnon of Greenville; Lindsay Pritchett of Schaumburg; Katelyn Sooter of Oklahoma City, Okla., sister of the bridegroom; and Kristi Wiggs of Rocky Mount. They wore formal satin gowns of Euro Rose by Bill Levkoff. The strapless, fitted bodice was accented at the waist with an Euro Ivory sash and streamers from waist to floor length to make a slight train. The A-line satin pick-up skirt fell softly to a floor length.

Flower girls were Audrey Dunwoody of Algonquin, Ill., and Meredith Rack of Hoffman Estates, Ill. Their tea-length princess-style dresses were made of ivory silk bridal satin. Each bodice, made of re-embriodered alencon lace, was defined with tiny mauve ribbon roses at the waist and a large self bow at the back. The flower girl dresses were handmade by the mother of the bridegroom.

Daniel Cole of Jackson, Miss., and Joshua Rongey of New Orleans, La., served as best men for the wedding.

Groomsmen were Derek Andrews of Wilson, brother of the bride; Perry Gagliano of Jackson; Thomas Griffin of Pineville, cousin of the bridegroom; Ryan Hooper of Pineville; and Andrew Yarborough of Norfolk, Va.

Ushers were Jonathan Andrews and W. Russell Andrews, both of Wilson, brothers of the bride; Trenton Baggett of DeRidder, La., cousin of the bridegroom; Michael Barbera of Long Beach, Miss.; Michael Cassagne of Jackson; and Clay Parks of Oklahoma City.

Ring bearer was Keoni Johnson of Carpentersville, Ill.

Register attendant was McKenzie Crocker, cousin of the bride.

Chelsea Crocker and Chandler Crocker, cousins of the bride, were program attendants.

Joy Edwards and Melissa Longo of A Joyful Occasion directed the wedding.

Preceding the ceremony, the bridal couple planned a time of worship and prelude led by Andi Rozier, vocalist and guitarist; Matthew Westerholm, pianist; Andy Yarbrough, vocalist and guitarist; Josh Rongey, guitarist; Perry Gagliano, drums; Jacob Sooter, pianist; Beth Gagliano, vocalist; and Lindsay Pritchett, vocalist.
