Dance teams compete This year, Hunter's Dance Competition Team competed at the Fire and Ice International Dance Competition, Starquest International Dance Competition and Marvonna Dance Competition. The Senior Dance Team "Zoom" won a platinum award, a high gold award, an extreme award and a costume award. They also won a first place overall in the senior category. The Teen Dance Team "Dark Beat" won a platinum award, a high gold award, an extreme award, a first place overall trophy for the teen category, and an overall choreographers award and cash prize. The Teen Dance Team "Hand Jive" won a sterling silver award, a gold award and an elite award. The Teen Dance Team "Get Up" won a gold award and an elite award. The Junior Dance Team "Southern Twang" won a sterling silver award, a gold award, and an extreme award. The Petite Dance Team "Rock That Party" won a sterling silver, a gold award, an extreme award and a first place overall trophy in the junior category. Soloist Leah Finch received a high gold award; Caroline Sorenson received two gold awards and an elite award; Kinsey Massey received two gold awards and an elite award; Alex Thurston received a gold award and a costume award; and Caramy Peebles received a high gold award, an extreme award, a costume award, a cash prize, and two first place overall trophies in the junior category. Several dancers were selected to perform in an opening number with a famous choreographer at the Marvonna finals. Studio owner Hunter Peebles said she is proud to have Barrett Wheeler as director/choreographer and Tonya Sorenson as coordinator of the dance team.
