Rasinos celebrate 60th

Fred and Sarah Rasino of Wilson celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 12.

On June 13, there was a family celebration and cookout commemorating the anniversary at the couple's home.

They celebrated with a cake cutting of a custom-made wedding cake. The centerpiece for the dessert table was an all-white flower arrangement with six white roses, each rose representing a decade of marriage.

Hosts were daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Harold Blizzard, daughter and son-in-law Valerie and Rudy Durham, daughter Jessica Rasino, and son David Rasino.

Mr. Rasino was a tool and die instructor at Wilson Tech for 30 years. He owned La Torre's & Rasino's Restaurant for several years.

Mrs. Rasino was a hairdresser and the owner of Mar-Gills for 12 years. She also worked for Redken Hair Care and Fulford's Antiques.

Mr. and Mrs. Rasino were both born in Brooklyn, New York.

The couple's grandchildren are Travis Walter Durham and Nicholas Rasino Durham, children of Valerie and Rudy, and Ryan Matthew Blizzard and Kyle Hunter Blizzard, children of Stacy and Harold.

The couple was married June 12, 1949.
