Formos celebrate 60th wedding anniversary


Mr. and Mrs. Arnie Formo celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 19.

The couple has six children: Wendy Akers of Atlanta, Ga., Lee Formo III and wife Mary Alice of Lynchburg, Va., Rev. Steven Formo and wife Dawn B. of Halifax, Richard Formo and wife Jesus of Atlanta, Ga., Brian Formo and wife Erin M. of Wilson, and Marcy F. Weston and husband Danny of Kenansville.

The couple's grandchildren are Nathan, Jonathan, and Kirstin, children of Lee and Mary Alice; Heather D., Kimberley, and Kyle, children of Steven and Dawn; Heather L., daughter of Ric; Angel, Erik, and Beth, children of Brian and Erin; and Christopher and Brandon, sons of Marcy F. and Danny.

The couple's great-grandchildren are Xoe, daughter of Jonathan and Nycole; Nicholas and Davis, sons of Heather D. and Jason; Leah and Dylan, daughters of Heather L.; Emma and Owen, children of Angel and David; and Dylan, son of Beth.

Mr. Formo was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minn., and was involved in manufacturing tobacco hogsheads and boxes for Collapsible Container Co. He worked for 42 years, 11 years in Aberdeen, S.D., and 31 years in Wilson.

Mrs. Formo was born and raised in Aberdeen, S.D., was a housewife until 1963, when she became bookkeeper for Collapsible Container Co.

Mr. and Mrs. Formo were married on June 19, 1949.
